Ashford's Broadway return is scheduled to take place in the month of March 2023, when he is paired with Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who created Hamilton is directing the musical. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment that is based upon the crisis in America that picked up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment hearings in over a century. In two seasons, Ashford was the main character of CBS's hit comedy B Positive. She also appeared in the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, that starred famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. Other Broadway credits for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance she received an Tony Award nomination. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and currently splits the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
